Flutist & Performer
Timothy Crouch is a flutist based in Toronto, Ontario. Across Southern Ontario he is in demand as a soloist, chamber and orchestral musician, as well as a sought after studio musician for film recordings. He has performed in orchestras under Maestros Peter Oundjian, Julian Kuerti, Johannes Debus and Uri Mayer. Timothy performs regularly with the Blythwood Winds, a Toronto-based woodwind quintet that has performed at the Art Gallery of Ontario, Timothy Eaton Memorial Church, the Lindsay Concert Foundation, Mount Pleasant Cemetery, and Gallery 345. They have recently performed a number of gigs at bars in Toronto, including Dave’s on St. Clair, Free Times Café, and Victory Café, and have recorded for the Canadian Music Centre.
With clarinetist Anthony Thompson, he performs with the Health Arts Society of Ontario at nursing homes across the GTA. He is currently Principal flute at Sneak Peek Orchestra, founded by Kevin Lau and Victor Cheng. Notably, in 2010 Mr. Crouch was awarded with the top prize in the first annual Canadian Flute Association Competition.
Mr. Crouch is also an active performer outside of Toronto. He is no stranger to the historic Academy Theatre in Lindsay, Ontaro where he has performed on-stage multiple times. He was a special guest artist for the Lindsay Concert Foundation’s annual gala, and performed as a guest artist with the Kawartha Male Chorus. He has also performed for the Bobcaygeon Music Council several times as their top bursary winner from 2007-2010. He has performed a number of times with his talented brother, composer and trumpeter Peter Crouch.
Mr. Crouch is a native of Fenelon Falls, ON, where he enjoys spending time at home sailing, kayaking and swimming. He received his Bachelor of Music from the University of Western Ontario, his Master of Music from the University of Toronto, and has his Artist Diploma and ARCT from The Royal Conservatory, where he took lessons from Leslie Newman.
